The mean high water mark is often used to determine the boundary line for properties which lie adjacent to tidal waterways. Historically this has been performed using harmonic analysis of the tidal record over a 19-year tidal epoch (where data is available). Recent work has shown that this harmonic value will often underrepresent the mean high water mark as calculated by averaging all high water values over the same period. Therefore, the values for the mean high water mark as calculated by both methods are presented below for reference and appropriate usage.
