Manly Hydraulics Laboratory (MHL) provides specialist and impartial advice relating to coastal and water engineering and water flow assurance, utilising physical and numerical modelling, NATA accredited facilities and extensive data collection programs in water, sewer, stormwater, irrigation, coastal, riverine and environmental systems. MHL is a business unit within the Water Division of the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment, and Water (DCCEEW).

MHL proudly hosts the NSW Modelling and Monitoring knowledge Hub (MaMH) and is a key member of the Engineering Emergency Management Team. For more information please view our Glossy, or see more About Us.

The majority of data presented online by MHL has been collected under the NSW Coastal Data Network Program managed by the Environment and Heritage Group (EHG) of DCCEEW.

MHL and EHG work closely with other agencies, local government and communities across New South Wales to ensure the long-term protection, conservation and restoration of coastal, estuary and floodplain environments by reducing the risks posed by coastal hazards such as extreme tides, sea level rise and floods.
